Unlike product design, which deals with physical objects, service design revolves around intangible activities, customised to satisfy people’s individual needs and desires. Services can be offered on their own, or as part of an ecosystem accompanying a product, and are often the added value that interests a customer in a product. The careful design of each stage of a service, from the first customer touchpoints, to the final delivery, creates the transition from simple service to holistic experience.
